Probation Page
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PROBATIONERS

Being on probation is an alternative to the maximum jail sentence.  It is, therefore, an opportunity for you to show the Court that you can make amends to the community without going [back] to jail.  You should be aware that the maximum jail sentence can still be ordered anytime you violate probation.

If you are on FORMAL probation, please refer to the Probation Report Schedule.

Attendance at any COUNSELING sessions is to be 100% and on time.  Your counselor must send monthly reports to the Probation Department.

Any COMMUNITY SERVICE work schedules are to be adhered to exactly.

Any AA sign-in sheets are to be sent monthly.

If you are to submit to a RANDOM DRUG SCREEN, a letter will be mailed to you at your last known address, giving you a certain amount of days to get the screening done.  You may go anywhere in your area to have this screeening done,  but it is up to you to find a facility that complies with the letter.

If you are on INFORMAL probation, you need not report at all, unless told otherwise.  You must inform the Probation Department of any changes in your address or employment.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY TERM OF PROBATION WILL BE CONSIDERED A VIOLATION AND A BENCH WARRANT MAY BE ISSUED FOR YOUR ARREST.

If you have any questions, please contact the Probation Department at (989) 345-5040 and ask for Probation Officer Cynthia Hobart.
